Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of the Know Your Skin mobile application (the "app"). By creating an account or using the app you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) to use the app. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you represent that your parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
2. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose.
- Upload photos of other people without their consent.
- Upload sexually explicit, violent, or hateful content.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the service.
- Submit deliberately misleading product submissions or reviews.
- Interfere with the operation of the service or other users' accounts.
4. Health disclaimer
The app provides general information about skincare routines, ingredients, and products. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for consultation with a qualified dermatologist or physician. Skin reactions vary from person to person; always patch- test new products and stop use if you experience adverse effects. We make no warranty that product recommendations are safe or effective for your specific situation.
5. AI-generated content
The app uses third-party AI services to analyze photos and ingredients. AI output can be wrong or incomplete. Treat it as a starting point, not a diagnosis.
6. Content you submit
You retain ownership of photos, journal entries, and other content you submit. You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the app for you. You may delete your content at any time.
7. Third-party products, retailers, and affiliate links
The app displays products from third-party brands and retailers. Product information (price, availability, ingredients, images) is sourced from the retailer or the brand and is accurate only as of the time it was last fetched. Actual price and availability at the point of purchase are determined by the retailer.
Affiliate disclosure. Know Your Skin is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites and apps to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. This means that when you tap a "Buy on Amazon" link in the app and subsequently make a qualifying purchase on Amazon, we may receive a commission from Amazon. The commission is paid by Amazon out of its own margin and does not increase the price you pay. Affiliate relationships do not influence which products are shown, how they are ranked, or the content of any analysis or recommendation in the app.
We may participate in similar programs with other retailers in the future and will disclose those relationships in the same way.
We are not the seller of any product shown in the app. We are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, quality, or safety of any third-party product, for the content of any retailer's website, or for the terms of any purchase you make through an external link. Any purchase is a transaction solely between you and the retailer, subject to the retailer's terms and privacy policy.
8. In-app purchases and subscriptions
If the app offers paid features, they are sold through the App Store or Google Play and are subject to the billing terms of those platforms. Subscription renewals, refunds, and cancellations are handled by the respective store.
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from inside the app or via our account deletion page. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms, fraud, or abuse of the service, or for legal reasons.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim arising from the app will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and (b) USD 50.
12. Apple-specific terms
If you use the iOS version of the app, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and us only, not with Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and has the right to enforce them.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date; continued use after the update constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of your country of residence, except where another jurisdiction is required by applicable law.
